Service Description

High-Risk Boarding is a specialized service designed for dogs with a known or assessed human bite risk, intense dog-directed aggression, or a history of serious behavioral incidents. This service exists to provide a safe, structured environment when traditional boarding options are not appropriate. This is not a board-and-train program, but structure, management, and behavior support are always maintained. Dogs are handled using principles of dog psychology and behavior, with a strong emphasis on safety, clarity, and predictability. All interactions are intentional, controlled, and based on the individual dog’s needs and thresholds. Dogs in this program are not placed into uncontrolled group settings. Social exposure, if appropriate, is carefully managed and never forced. Many dogs remain separate from other dogs, with structure provided through routine, movement, and handler interaction rather than play. Handlers advocate for the dog at all times, reading stress signals early and adjusting management before escalation occurs. We move at the dog’s pace and prioritize emotional regulation, neutrality, and trust over compliance or exposure. Secure containment is required for all bite-risk dogs. We utilize impact-rated, escape-proof crates and strict handling protocols to ensure the safety of the dog, handlers, and anyone on the property. This service is available by approval only and requires a prior evaluation if not already a training client. Not all dogs are a fit, and recommendations may include training support before or after boarding to ensure long-term safety and stability.
