Service Description

Whether you’re gone for one night or an extended vacation, our boarding provides a calm, structured environment designed to support your dog’s well-being. Our boarding is intentionally different from traditional facilities. Dogs stay in our home and are integrated (optional) into a balanced pack under constant supervision. While this is not a board-and-train program, we do maintain structure, reinforce existing training, and support healthy behavior throughout your dog’s stay. For current training clients, we naturally build on the foundations already in place. Although this is not our Broad and Train Program, many clients report improved behaviors when they return home. Some clients do a 1:1 session at the end of their dog's stay to reinforce the owner's education and handling. This environment is especially well-suited for dogs that struggle in typical boarding settings, including those with reactivity, social uncertainty, or sensitivity around other dogs/people. Integration is thoughtful and controlled, not forced. Dogs are never pushed into interactions they are not ready for, and rest, movement, and social exposure are all carefully managed. Because we understand dog psychology and behavior, we are able to read early signs of stress, over-arousal, or discomfort and advocate for the dog before issues escalate. Our balanced dogs play an important role in modeling appropriate behavior, helping new pack members learn boundaries in a safe, neutral way. Crate training is not required. For dogs that are new to crates or struggle with confinement, we work with them patiently and safely. We highly recommend crate training prior to boarding to limit stress. For escape-risk dogs, we use secure, Impact Crates to ensure their safety when unattended. Dogs that are fearful of people are also welcome. We take a relationship-first approach, allowing trust to develop at the dog’s pace rather than forcing interaction. Boarding at Balanced K9ines has impacted human fearful dogs tremendously. Updates: We provide frequent updates, often including videos, so you can see how your dog is settling in. Training clients typically receive instructional clips they can continue using at home. Updates are sent most days, with occasional gaps during longer stays.
